On Sunday, August 16, “Team JAF” will join more than 12,000 runners for this year’s Falmouth Road Race. The Team’s runners will once again join together to face the scenic 7-mile run in the heart of Cape Cod in support of The Joe Andruzzi Foundation. The Foundation assists cancer patients and their families in making critical mortgage, rent and utility payments during financially challenging times. The organization also acts as a social and emotional support system for families when it is needed most.
With the race just weeks away, runners have pushed themselves physically and mentally to prepare for race day. They have trained their bodies in anticipation of the course and August’s heavy heat. Runners are faced with different challenges in preparation for the day but unite with one goal – to provide help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families.
Not only are runners faced with the physical challenge of running the distance, but also the responsibility of fundraising. Essentially, fundraising for the race is just as important as running it. Runner’s efforts to raise donations directly impact cancer patients and their families.
JAF is very proud of their runners and grateful for their efforts in furthering its mission. To donate and support Team JAF’s efforts, click here.
