George K. Regan, Jr. President

George founded Regan Communications Group in 1984 after spending eleven years in the Office of Mayor Kevin H. White; the last ten as White's press secretary.  He previously worked as a reporter for the Boston Globe.

During his career at City Hall, he specialized in crisis communications and media strategy. He served as a media consultant to President Carter, Senator Maurice Udall, and Senator Henry Jackson. George received a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Suffolk University and a Master of Science in public relations from Boston University.

George has built the firm into New England's largest privately held public relations company.  He is actively involved in Boston community events and charitable organizations.  In 1998, George was one of the four extraordinary individuals who received the Community Leadership Award from Franciscan's Children's Hospital & Rehabilitation Center.

In October of 2002, George, along with Red Sox legend Dwight Evans, was honored as Man of the Year by the American Liver Foundation in an All-Star Tribute held at Fenway Park.  This tribute is a celebration of individuals who demonstrate an outstanding show of concern and compassion for others.

Alan Eisner, Chief Executive Officer

Alan is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Boston Herald. During his more than 20 years at the Herald, he also held the positions of Managing Editor, Education Editor, political reporter and commentator.

As a top Boston newsman, Alan brings a wealth of talent and experience in serving national and local clientele. He is also in charge of new business development.

Alan is responsible for providing strategic consulting on all major accounts as well as coordinating the firm's major accounts.

Stephen P. Dunleavy, General Manager

Steve has held a variety of high-level marketing and operations positions in both the public and private sector. At Regan Communications Group, he is responsible for the daily operations of a 50-person public relations firm, directing all account service operation and overseeing strategies for major clients.

Steve joined us after serving as Senior Vice President, Management Services, of New Boston Garden Corporation. In that capacity, he directed the transition of the old Boston Garden to the new FleetCenter, which opened in 1995. Previously, he was Vice President at the World Trade Center in Boston, where he was responsible for operating the $110 million mixed use facility.  He also has an extensive background in the public sector. From 1972 to 1984, he served as Assistant to the Mayor of Boston in various capacities, including Director of Program Management and Director, Public Safety Office. He also served as assistant to the Boston Police Commissioner. Prior to his service in city government, Steve held numerous management positions in journalism, serving in a variety of positions at the Boston Herald; including News Editor and Feature Editor.

Jim Borghesani, Deputy General Manager for News Operations

Jim held top communications positions in state government before joining Regan in March 2005.  He oversees crisis control for Regan and oversees many of the news-related projects for Regan clients.

Jim, who holds a master’s degree in communications from Northeastern University, started his career as a reporter for the Patriot Ledger in Quincy.  He went from the Ledger to the Boston Business Journal, where he covered health care, government and higher education.  In 1994 he became director of communications for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office in Boston, the largest and busiest prosecutor’s office in New England.  He became director of communications for the Massachusetts Governor’s Office immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  

Jack Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President/Chief Editor

Jack has more than two decades of television news experience including positions as news director at Channels 7 and 56 in Boston. At Regan, he specializes in writing and editing proposals, as well as plans for Regan clients. He has coordinated special events and media placements in major media outlets including C-Span, CBS News, and Cable News Network.  Jack has been at Regan for sixteen years.

Christian Megliola, Senior Vice President/Chief Sports Strategist

A three-time award-winning television producer, Christian brings a wealth of Boston media experience to his role as team leader and chief sports strategist. After four years at Channel 4 in Boston, Christian took the helm of the FOX 25 sports department for that station’s news launch in 1996. Christian left FOX 25 in 1999 to serve for a year as the editor-in-chief for AthleteNow.com, where he was in charge of content for the personal website of dozens of athletes including Ray Bourque, Charles Barkley, and Allan Houston. Christian has also played a prominent role in the production of two of the best-selling sports videos in Boston history, co-writing "Boston Red Sox: 100 Years in Baseball History," and serving as a producer of the "Banner Years: A Boston Garden Retrospective." Both videos won New England Emmy Awards. He has also worked as a writer and producer for Channel 7 news and has been a contributing writer to Boston Baseball magazine. At Regan, Christian handles a wide variety of clients, including retail (New Balance, Dunkin' Donuts), sports (Boston Celtics, The Sports Museum, Boston Cannons), real estate (RE/MAX of New England), hospitality (Cask ‘n Flagon), and media (Boston Magazine, Entercom).

Lisa Hiland, Vice President and Team Leader

Lisa Hiland is an experienced manager with 10+ years of consumer, corporate and technology public relations and marketing experience. She has placed the full gamut of stories in a variety of top print and broadcast media nationwide. Since joining Regan Communications in the fall of 2006, Lisa has worked on and overseen such accounts as the New England Spring Flower Show, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Salon Marc Harris, Focus Fitness and a variety of top Boston area restaurants. Prior to Regan, Lisa served as Communications Manager at Mullen where she worked with Match.com, Olympus and the Grain Foods Foundation. Prior to Mullen, she was with Citigate Cunningham in Cambridge, MA, and G.S. Schwartz & Co. and Burson-Marsteller, both in New York, NY. She began her career at Schwartz Communications in San Francisco. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Fordham University.

Dave Procopio, Vice President/Team Leader

Prior to joining Regan Communications in 2006, Dave Procopio worked in journalism and law enforcement. He served as a reporter and editor for a chain of community newspapers in and around Boston for nearly decade. Following that, he served for nearly five years as press secretary for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the busiest public prosecutor’s office in New England. At Regan, he works with a team that specializes in strategic communications for political issues and business and media clients. He is a graduate of Salem State College.

Kara Crowley, Vice President/Team Leader

Kara manages an account team representing a variety of accounts including the Boston Harbor Hotel, Smith & Wollensky, and the Boston Herald.  Previously, Kara held the position of Senior Account Manager for Regan Communications Group working on accounts including the Boston Celtics, and the New England Revolution.  Kara joined the company in 1998 as an Account Executive.  Prior to joining Regan, she was an ENG producer at WCVB-TV, Channel 5.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.

Matthew Watkins, Vice President/Team Leader

Matt joined Regan Communications Group in 2000 working to service many retail and hospitality accounts before serving as the Project Spokesman and Community Relations Manager for the $385 million Route 3 North Transportation Improvements Project. Matt also has extensive experience in crisis communications including work on the Big Dig project. Matt later managed a team and coordinated all aspects of the community outreach program for the NSTAR 345 kV Transmission Reliability Project including both media relations and community relations. Currently Matt’s team manages a variety of accounts including several real estate, business and retail clients. In addition, Matt oversees a team in Connecticut managing community relations on behalf of two general contractors for a $1 billion plus electric transmission line project spanning 69-miles through 18 municipalities. Matt is a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island.

Nicole Russo, Team Leader/Vice President

Regan Communications team leader/vice president Nicole Russo has more than ten years of public relations experience. She began her PR efforts in 1995 at The White House in the Office of the Social Secretary as an intern where she assisted in coordinating special events and State Dinners.

Nicole has also worked in Las Vegas for two years handling the public relations for restaurants and nightclubs located inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Nicole was the Marketing and PR Director for Fire + Ice Restaurant Group, where she handled all of the marketing, PR and advertising for the multi-unit restaurant group. She has been with Regan Communications Group for more than five years and supervises such high profile accounts as Todd English’s restaurants, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Mohegan Sun and Legal Sea Foods.


Nicole Glor, General Manager – New York City Office/Director of National Media Relations

As television director, Nicole oversees all television publicity for our clients. Nicole previously worked as an account executive at Eric Mower and Associates in New York State where one of her public relations campaigns won a national award for "Best Publicity Campaign of 2002" by the League of American Communications Professionals. Nicole served as a news assignment editor and news producer at the NBC and FOX TV affiliates in Syracuse, New York. Nicole has also been a contributing writer for several business, news and travel publications. Nicole earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Nicole has worked at Regan Communications for the past 4 years. Nicole will serve as General Manager of Chandler Regan Strategies and will be focusing on national media relations.

Nicole L. Kieser, Director of Television Relations

As television director, Nicole oversees all television publicity for our clients. Most recently, Nicole Kieser served as the Press Secretary for the Mihos for Governor Campaign. Nicole has worked extensively in Boston's television news market. She began her career as an assignment editor for WHDH, 7News, and later held the position at Fox 25 News. In 2000, she returned to WHDH as a News Planning and Research Editor. She has also freelanced for New England Cable News and as a voice over artist.

She was on air talent for WESX 1230-AM in Salem, until the station was sold in 2006; and has taught classes in Broadcast News at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

Nicole is a life long resident of Massachusetts. She graduated with honors from Emerson College in 1997 with a Mass Communications degree in Television News Production.

Bethany Tripp, Director of Radio Relations

As radio director, Bethany is the link between Regan Communications clients and radio stations. Bethany has an extensive media background including both television and radio. She comes to us from Adelphia Media Services, where she worked with cable networks and clients to develop and execute custom promotions such at the "Stop Breast Cancer for Life" walk in Burlington, VT and "Football Fanatic" in Plattsburgh, NY. Prior to her work in cable, Bethany worked as a radio promotions manager for nearly six years, polishing her skills at well-know New England stations such as 92 PRO-FM and WPRO-AM in Providence, RI.  Bethany earned her B.A. in Communication Studies/Public Relations at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA.
